Should my child bring home a new levels reader each day?

Not necessarily. This depends on whether the student has read the book that she / he had taken out previously. The idea is to ensure that the student has completed reading a book, before borrowing a new one.

How does a student keep a record of levels readers that they borrow?

Each student has a little notebook in which they record the date and the name of the levels reader that they have taken. This book is meant to be signed by the parent / guardian each day as proof that they have listened to their child read.

Can I contact the teacher with regards to my child's performance?
YES. It is always good to have a parent set up an appointment with the teacher, via the office. This can be done by telephoning 09 - 405 9608. A suitable time will be set. Teachers are not always available to discuss matters at length during their teaching time. An afternoon appointment after 2:45 will be most likely... but this can be negotiated.
